As the year comes to a close, I’m a sap and like to take stock of things. With this newsletter, that means looking back on the posts, which ones did well, which ones didn’t, which ones were fun to write, which ones weren’t.
Since many of you are new around here, hopefully, these give you something to check out. Even long time readers could always use another nudge to read some they missed :)
Brian’s Most Popular Posts
Here are my (Brian’s) most popular posts of 2024.
2024 was the year of policy. Maybe that’s natural in a U.S. presidential election year. I’d rather talk pure theory, but I’m happy I was able to complain about all sides equally.

THANK YOU!
Probably once every other month, I text Josh about how I still can’t believe so many of you subscribe to and support our work. I remember when my first blog post got 100 readers back in 2013. Again, I want to thank our readers for that support.
2023 started the upward trend, and 2024 kept that line going. We added another 5k or so free subscribers and continue slowly adding paid subscribers (even with so little paid content). Again, we appreciate you all for supporting this weird economics newsletter that’s often abstract and obscure.
Thanks, everyone. So much. Truly. And Happy New Year!
As always, if you’ve learned something from this newsletter, we’d appreciate your support by subscribing or sharing your favorite posts.
